Bones and butterflies, taxidermy and musty museum displays may seem unlikely outfit components, but in the mind of Wonder Anatomie designer, Pop, they positively sing… Throw in a dusting of Sk8r chic and wearing these clothes will kickflip you straight into the style stratosphere.
Born and raised in Bangkok, Chalernkiat Khatikasemlert, or Pop, of the aptly named Wonder Anatomie, has been designing clothes for just 4 years, yet already his collections are making waves from continent to continent.
A fascination for anatomy and a sojourn in Paris, led to the cool label name (anatomy is used with the French spelling) and a love for things unseen, gave Pop a rich palette of the curious, macabre and exquisite.
The result is exciting, upbeat and always beautifully executed clothing for men and women. In a wide range of materials, from plastic and paper to more traditional fabrics, some pieces are even unisex, so put a lock on your closet, lest your significant other or roommate “appropriates” them.

It was nine years ago that Pop started to think about fashion, when he was working as an interior designer. Coming from a family of style enthusiasts, he began by selling his parent’s second-hand clothes in the market. One day he saw a sewing machine in a department store and bought it even though he didn’t know how to sew. He experimented with jersey and sold the resulting designs.
Paris, Lucky Charm
From there Pop went from strength to strength, studying at BIFA – Bangkok International Fashion Academy, then landing a scholarship to study at IFM – International Francais De La Mode, in Paris, which fast became his lucky city.
While on another scholarship to Vienna, (the guy has talent!) at MOMUK – Museum Cartier MQ, he saw a taxidermy museum, full of stuffed animals, opposite his studio. He conjured images of a skateboard player amok in the museum, donning python prints and animal skins and topping it off with pop-up motifs from museum exhibits. The resulting collection ‘A Day In The Museum’, is multi-layered and cutting edge.
Pop’s stylish sisters, Pui and Ple, help him run his store, which is a magical emporium of items, ranging from bell-jars of butterflies to cardboard skeletons crawling over everything: truly an experience not to be missed when in Bangkok.
A small close-knit company, at times they even do the embroidery themselves. His father singlehandedly made the furniture for the store as the family once owned a furniture factory, and both parents are very creative. His mother loves to wear ‘Wonder Anatomie’ herself, especially the tight leggings and skull-embellished tops.
