This week I visited the store at Mémoire d’ Angkor, a boutique hotel in Siem Reap, Cambodia, the latest leg of my Asian sojourn. I wandered through looking at the colored lacquer Buddhas by Theam, the hand-carved Apsara candles and silk scarves made by local women, and the rich pinks, reds and greens were so irresistible, I couldn’t stop exploring.
Like Alice Through The Looking Glass, I soon found myself in a world of sumptuous luxury, surrounded by silks, dark wood, lacquer, stone and velvets… What could be better?! I discovered the hotel and it’s fabulous rooms. Yes, it’s the place to unwind after climbing through the fabulous temples of Angkor Wat, often said to be the Eighth Wonder Of The World. The hotel itself is an Aladdin’s Cave of opulent suites, color, texture, cool lounge areas and discreet hospitality. There are even pink and green spa rooms…
And did I mention the Dolphin Swimming Pool? Just Perfect.
