London Fashion Week Has Bowed Out Gracefully…
Right about now, everyone is breathing a deep sigh as they either sweep up the champagne corks and wash their makeup brushes or settle into their hotel room at the next fashion destination: Milan. We’ve seen all the rich and varied offerings of London Designers and their crew of stylists, hair designers, makeup artists and choreographers now. Not to mention the models.
The London ethos is all about luxury and refinement mixed with a large dash of quirkiness..DV
The show has left town or is still partying fit to drop. The laughter, air kisses, tears, and effervescent joys of the fashion world mask the steely core of business, and humorous but gritty determination that is peculiarly British.
The London ethos is all about luxury and refinement mixed with a large dash of quirkiness, and that defiant spirit has taken London to the top in lexicon of Fashion. No one knows how to make an ephemeral trend turn viral like a Londoner, and there is no surpassing the London wit and famously dry British sense of humour.
London Fashion Week is the perfect arena in which to spotlight the glorious British temperament and sense of style, and the Brits’ Cinderella reputation is long gone: in Fashion we shine. Hence we can expect a beautifully tailored satin shirt from Margaret Howell, in a completely edible shade of cream, as soon as a bright orange chunky lace petticoat and even larger bow on the head at Sibling.
That’s just Londoners. Sly wit, class and impeccable taste. I love them for it.
While I fan through my smoking notepad, to sort out the enchantments and the embellishments, here’s a tiny sampling of London Fashion Style. More to swoon over later…
