It’s that time of year again. Now’s the moment to conquer your shyness and break out the shorts. With so many minuscule choices, ragged and lace hemmed, high cut and high-waisted, appropriate boy shorts and borderline bikini length shorts, its hard to know where to look for a sea of thighs (sometimes almost-tailbones).
Shorts are a minefield for many, (or most) especially outside Asia, where perfectly tanned and toned legs proliferate on women from eighteen to eighty, and beyond.
Cute shorts are a uniform in many Asian countries, dressed up or down, but always with that extra something that makes them appear elegant and conservative. I guess they simply know how to walk. There’s also the big baggy shorts and leggings phenomenon, the shorts and heels all day long, gracefully stepping through a haze of 35C heat… It’s enough to make you go “Grr!”
Never mind, smile through gritted teeth and imagine yourself in these little beauts from Shoe String Bamboo Vest, home of the classily cozy. Neither too short nor Sk8r Girl long. Pale and neutral but not hip enhancing white (I mean, who thought of that, seriously? We can’t survive just on wheatgrass forever.) And the easy pleats and pockets and cuffs are so sweet. People might have you pegged as a kawai princess.
Shorts. You were born to wear ’em.
