Stylein: New Desert Minimalism

Perfect tailoring, androgynous style and a minimalist palette: Stylein took the Scandinavian passion for precision and offered the collection you can’t live without.

Although sober, suited and booted and in austere monochrome, there’s something lyrical and softly draped in the shaping and a clear-eyed, fresh sensibility, perhaps borne of the references to desert light. Designer Elin Alemdar was influenced by the works of Albert Frey, founder of “Desert Modernism”, an ethos of natural colour mixed with  industrial style, set in the Palm Springs of the 50s and 60s. Imagine that wide open, blue sky, where every stylistic detail will be highlighted and thrown into view and then grasp the pared down vision of Stylein’s designs, where a dark, lizard green is the brightest colour.

I love the resulting clean, almost schoolgirl innocence. Your life needs this look.
